8th graders will EXPLORE their FUTURE on March 4th and 5th

As one of the most influential people in your child’s life, you have the opportunity to help him or her understand the importance of preparing for life in high school and beyond.   While high school graduation day may seem far in the future, now is a critical time to make sure your child is prepared to take that next step after graduation, whether that means starting college or training, or starting a career.

Our school will be giving ACT Explore to all 8th graders on March 4 and 5, 2015. ACT Explore provides an early opportunity for your child to build plans for the future and review academic progress toward college and career readiness.  Assessing your child’s academic strengths and areas of need while still in middle school allows him or her to make timely coursework adjustments to get, or stay, on target for their educational and career goals.

Taking ACT Explore also provides other benefits for your child, including:
·       Exploring college majors and career areas that match their interests
·       An early indicator of college and career preparation
·       Areas needing extra help or additional courses
·       Suggestions for improving academic skills

Visit www.explorestudent.org for more information. If you have any questions, please call Pamela Kino, Test Coordinator, at 233-5727, ext. 231.

Please make every effort to have your child in school on our EXPLORE assessment days. Thank you for your support and encouragement as you help your child reach his or her greatest potential.
