Parents and families can help our students do their best by paying attention to these test taking strategies:
- Make sure your child is well-rested, eats nutritious foods and gets daily exercise
- Establish a reasonable bedtime and provide an alarm clock for on-time wake-up.
- Make a healthy breakfast part of their morning routine, either at home or at our cafeteria
- Be prepared by having books, backpacks and clothes ready the night before. Allow time for traffic, weather and other possible delays.
- Arrive at school with time to spare...to talk with friends, eat breakfast in the cafeteria and to report to the first class on-time.
- Speak positively to your child about testing. Acknowledge that testing can be challenging, but encourage them to put forth their best effort and don't give up. Reassure them that they will have 3 testing opportunities to demonstrate their abilities (highest score counts) and what really counts is that they have done their best!
