King Builders Want You to Drive with Aloha!

King Builders 2013-14
Lauryn and Amanda give a "Thumbs Up" for safe driving

Thank you King Builders! Thirty King Builder club members woke up early and greeted our morning drivers with safety signs and enthusiasm in the annual HPD Traffic Safety Campaign. They want to remind everyone to drive safely near schools and in our community. King is also running morning bulletin spots to remind our students about their responsibilities too...use the crosswalks, stay on the sidewalk, and be attentive (phones/texting can be a hazardous distraction

IMPORTANT REMINDER TO PARENTS TOO: Students 12 and younger are not allowed to ride in the bed of trucks.  Know who your child is catching a ride with and how they are being transported.

Congratulations Ms. Alaiasa!

King's Principal, Ms. Sheena Alaiasa, received a prestigious award at a surprise student assembly on
August 29, 2013. She was selected from a  group of 3 national finalists. This is the first time the winner is from the State of Hawaii. Governor Neal Abercrombie and DOE Superintendent Katherine Matayoshi lauded Ms. Alaiasa's leadership in guiding and inspiring King's teacher and students toward growing student achievement and a positive school climate! Ms. Alaiasa will travel to Washington D.C. in September for the formal presentations. Congratulations to Ms. Alaiasa for her commitment and vision. Also, much thanks to all of King's teachers, staff and students for their dedicated work.
